Thy Will Be Done (Midweek Lenten Service 2018)

Sometimes, like for Abraham, the God of clear promises becomes a God who is hard to understand. We even find ourselves struggling with God's will. Abraham agonized over the command to offer up Isaac as a sacrifice. Just as the Lord provided the sacrificial ram in the thicket, so God has provided the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. On this Ash Wednesday, even as we face the darkness of sin, may the Lord remind us of his faithful promises through his Son Jesus Christ and so firmly trust in him.
