Grace Overflowing (Lent 2018)

"And lead us not into temptation", Jesus taught us to pray. Martin Luther reminds us that in the Lord's Prayer "we ask that God would guard us against the devil, the world, and our sinful nature." So confident is Satan in his own power that he confronts even the very Son of God, eager to pull him down. Daily he plots against us, hoping to weaken our faith, impoverish our Christian walk, and diminish our influence. But because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we are the ones who are confident in times of trial-persevering in all of life's battles, strengthened by his Spirit through Word and Sacrament, and looking forward to eternity with him.
