The Overflow Challenge
As we think about our lives of discipleship—those things that we do because of our faith—we realize that we are overflowing with his grace. We are doing the good works that he has prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10). We are Overflowing. Consider Ephesians 3:20-21: “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen.” That is Overflow!
Starting October 1, we are asking all of you at Cornerstone to join us as we embark on this 40-Day Overflow Challenge together as a church! Life is intentional. Discipleship is intentional. If you don’t make it a priority, it simply isn’t going to happen. During this challenge, we will be sharing something you can do each day to live out the overflowing grace and love God has given to you. Each day is designed to encourage an aspect of your faith. Some days’ challenges may be easy, other days may take more effort. But no matter what, it will always be worth it, both to you and to those around you!
To help you in your daily challenges, we have created a companion journal that is available for you to pick up at church, starting the weekend of Sept. 29/30. If you can’t get to church and want to have a journal sent to you, call the church office at 317.814.4252.
Daily challenges and reflections will also be posted on our Facebook pages, as well as emailed as a daily devotion. God continues to craft, shape and mold us. He uses our experiences and recasts them in the light of his Word. Every day during this challenge, why not start with this brief prayer: “Lord, I am yours—shape me in the likeness of your Son, Jesus. Amen.”
Each day is a step on a 40-Day journey where together we will realize that we are a people who truly Overflow in the love and grace of God!
